Free Fare Super Saturdays

The Free Fare Super Saturdays scheme will provide free travel this autumn on many bus services across the county. As the winter months and holiday season approaches, free Saturday bus travel will help people save money, encourage connectivity, and support combating loneliness and isolation. 

The scheme is being delivered on behalf of Leicestershire Buses to support Leicestershire County Councils Bus Service Improvement Plan ambitions. 

Free Fare Super Saturdays when travelling to or from Leicestershire*: October 19 & 26 and November, 2, 9, 16, 23, 30. 

Whether you are shopping, dining, or connecting with friends, choose the bus for a more affordable and greener travel option!

This offer is inclusive for anyone getting on or off the bus in Leicestershire on the included routes. If you already qualify for free travel, board the bus the usual way. If you are new to using the bus, don’t worry, they are easy to use!

When you arrive at the bus stop, signal the bus to stop by holding out your hand, once you board, simply tell the bus driver where you are going, and they’ll do the rest. When your destination is the next stop, ring the bell and wait for the bus to stop. You can also use the journey planner to find the nearest bus stops and services in the area.

When are Free Fare Super Saturdays available?

The Free Fares offer runs on Saturdays from October 19 to November 30 (included). It consists of seven Free Fare Saturdays. You can travel from the first timetabled service of the day to the last bus. 

What do I need to do to travel for free?

You will need to be travelling on a service included in the scheme and either getting on the bus or off the bus in Leicestershire. When you get on board, simply tell the driver where you are going, and they will do the rest! 

What services are included and excluded?

You can travel for free on the bus services in the table below. Check the Leicestershire Network Maps on the area guides page to see which included services operate in your area.
