Group Walk: Ladies of Leicester

Sunday 5 March at 3.30pm

Starts from the Richard III Statue, Cathedral Gardens off St Martins.
A short walk from Leicester Guildhall.

Finishes by the Clock Tower, city centre.

Walk takes around 75 minutes, steady pace

We’re collaborating with Leicester Guildhall on Sunday 5 March to celebrate International Women’s Day!

This Ladies of Leicester walk starts at the Richard III statue, a short distance from the Guildhall. Our route visits locations associated with some of Leicester’s notable women of the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries. It includes campaigners, teachers, Suffragettes and women whose work improved the lives of others in the city. The walk content is similar to the Suffragettes themed walk presented in 2021, but the route includes some extra locations.

Toilets are available in Leicester Guildhall, a short walk away. Please allow enough time to make your way to the start of the walk. Information about the pace of our walks (and much more) can be found on our Leicester City Council Group Walks page.

For full details about this walk and to book please visit Eventbrite. Alternatively, book by phone during office hours.
