Group Walk: On the Trail of Lady Aethelflaed, Anglo-Saxon Ruler of Mercia

Sunday 5 March at 10am

Starting from the Victoria Park main gates on London Road

Finishing at Leicester Guildhall, city centre.

Walk takes around 90 minutes, steady pace

Join us on the trail of Lady Aethelflaed, Anglo-Saxon ruler of Mercia. Discover a little of her story and the statue she inspired. This walk is led by one of our volunteers with an interest in the subject. This is a repeat of the walk first offered in October last year. We finish at Leicester Guildhall.

Afterwards, an optional free tour of the Guildhall is available, focusing on women associated with the Guildhall and also with the city. There will be a short comfort break before the tour begins (at around 11.30am). The morning tour is just for our walkers – please allow extra time for this.

For full details about this walk and to book please visit Eventbrite. Alternatively, book by phone during office hours.
