Legacy Grants
Welcome to the Legacy Grants
Leicestershire County Council is happy to announce the upcoming launch of the Legacy Grants.
What is the Legacy Grant?
This grant is for up to £10,000 to launch active travel initiatives within a community which will have long-lasting benefits. Applications can be put forward for a range of community needs. You could buy in some e-bikes to loan in the community; you could run a project in local schools; or you could get trained as a walk leader to encourage being active and socialising in your area.
Grants will be allocated to the seven districts of Leicestershire that make up Choose How You Move’s areas of work: Blaby, Charnwood, Harborough, Hinckley and Bosworth, Melton, North West Leicestershire, and Oadby and Wigston.
Who can apply?
We aim to work with community groups who wish to apply for funding to launch active travel initiatives in their area, and guide you to implement your project and reach out effectively to your communities to encourage long-lasting behaviour change.
Any community group can apply for funding, as long as a governance structure for the group is in place. Equally, joint applications can also be submitted, which makes this a prime way to collaborate and cross-work to positively impact your area in more ways than one.
