Group Walk: Castle Hill Country Park – Castle Quarter

Relax with nature and explore Castle Hill Country Park, a little-known green space on the edge of the City. We visit the Castle Quarter of the park and take a steady walk through a mix of grassland and wooded areas. The paths in Castle Hill Country Park are soft and the terrain is uneven – please wear appropriate footwear. Due to the terrain, unfortunately this walk is unsuitable for wheelchairs and buggies.

Evening Walk: Aylestone Meadows, Woodland & Grassland Walk

Make the most of summer evenings with a stroll through lovely Aylestone Meadows. This time we take in the park’s woodland and grassland areas. This is a short social walk, led by one of our volunteers covering a distance of around 2 miles at a steady pace. Due to the terrain (soft uneven paths and some steps) this is not an accessible route so is unsuitable for wheelchairs and buggies. Please wear appropriate footwear. Please be aware there are no toilet facilities at this location.

A Walk on the Wild Side in Aylestone Meadows is hosted by an experienced wildlife expert who will lead you around the meadows, pausing to talk about the different types of insects, plants and animals found here. In particular, this walk will focus on the river habitat and nature conservation work associated with flood management. This steady-paced walk is a great way to relax while discovering a little about nature in the city.


Group Walk: A day at Leicester Races on Victoria Park

Join us as we walk the footsteps of former race goers to visit locations associated with the historic Leicester horse races! We head to Victoria Park to walk the former race course and pause for information along the way, to discover the history of this popular social event. This walk is led by a volunteer with an interest in this subject. The walk finishes back Leicester Museum and Art Gallery on New Walk, where toilets are available.
