Group Walk – City centre to The Rally & Fosse Rec Ground

25/02/2023 @ 11:00 am – 12:30 pm –

Join us for a walk of around 2.5 miles led at a steady pace. We take in views of the canal and old Friars Mill and pass through the attractive green spaces of The Rally and Fosse Recreation Ground, via residential streets. We pause in The Rally to reveal a little about its railway history before returning to the city centre. ย

Group Walk – Old School Leicester

11/02/2023 @ 11:00 am – 12:30 pm –

At nearly 3 miles, this is one of our longer walks for those who like to stretch their legs. Join us for a walk through the city passing some of the city’s former school buildings, mostly from the 19th and early 20th centuries. This walk is led by one of our walk volunteers who will give a little light information along the way. Discover the city and reminisce on your own school days! ย ย

Group Walk – A short factory trail in the city centre

18/02/2023 @ 11:00 am – 12:30 pm –

This walk passes some of the former industrial buildings in Leicester. We’ve picked out just a few to get a flavour of the industries which provided employment and brought wealth to Leicester in the 19th and 20th centuries. Weโ€™ll pause for a little light information along the way.ย  At 1.6 miles, this is a shorter version of the walk previously presented in 2021 entitled Factory Trail: City Centre West.

Group Walk – Let’s Get Together Stroll

22/02/2023 @ 11:00 am – 12:30 pm –

Enjoy a friendly group walk through pleasant city streets, revealing some interesting facts along the way. This walk has a ‘memories of Leicester’ theme and passes former leisure and entertainment venues in the city which have since closed, but are within living memory. Join us to reminisce or simply to discover a little about Leicester in past decades. This time we finish at the Guildhall, where staff will provide a mini tour (up to 30 minutes). This is a great way to get outdoors, explore the city on foot, meet new people and discover something new. Toilets are available in the museum at the end. This short walk is suitable for most. Walking or wheeling, we hope youโ€™ll join us!
