Melton FoxConnect

Get on board with the brand new on-demand bus service from Melton FoxConnect.

Melton FoxConnect is a modern digital demand responsive transport option that operates in two area zones to connect rural communities and settlements to the north and south of Melton Mowbray with the town and also to Syston. You can choose where you want to be picked up and dropped off meaning it’s a convenient and flexible way to travel at a time that suits you.

Getting started

You can book a journey through the call centre on 0116 216 7756 during opening hours 08:30-16:30 on Monday to Friday or by using the Leicestershire FoxConnect app at any time to book a journey for travel within the service operating hours of 6:00 and 19:30.

Available on smartphones from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. 

  1. Download the Leicestershire FoxConnect app on your smart phone. Make sure it’s the app with the white background and is called ‘Leicestershire FoxConnect’. 
  2. You will be prompted to add your phone number. Once you have done this, enter the code sent to you via text message.
  3. When your phone number is verified, make an account using your name and email address. 
  4. You can then add in your preferred payment details for all bookings. If you skip this section, you will be asked to add payment details when booking your first journey. 
  5. Book your journey and wait for your driver to pull up to your pick up point.
  6. Pay in advance so you’ll never need to worry about having the right change. Journeys are FREE until Friday 31 January (included). 
  7. Get on board and enjoy the ride, knowing you will arrive quickly and safely at your destination.

If you’re not able to use the app, call 0116 216 7756 to book a journey.  

If journeys need to be amended or cancelled, passengers should use one of the booking methods to update their journey. To keep the service running efficiently for others, it is important that journeys are cancelled if passengers can’t make the journey. 

 

Booking your journey 

You can book single or return journeys through the call centre or app up to 7 days in advance of travel.  If you wish to make a return journey, we’d encourage you to do this as early as possible such as when you book your outward journey. 

Through the Call Centre

The call centre is open Monday – Friday, 08:30 – 16:30. 

Passengers that book journeys via the call centre will get text message updates, including journey confirmations, timing updates, and information on pick-up and drop-off locations. 

If passengers need to amend or cancel a booking, they should call the call centre and update their booking. 

If you use the call centre to book but wish to travel later than 16:30, please book your journey in advance or just book your return journey at the same time as your outward booking.

Through the app 

The app can be installed on smartphones, from the Google Play and Apple App Store. To create bookings through the app, follow the instructions in the ‘Getting Started’ section of this page. 

Passenger that book a journey via the app will get app notifications, including journey confirmations, timing updates, and information on pick-up and drop-off locations. Passengers may also receive email and text message updates. Users will need to allow notifications via the device settings the app is installed on. 

If passengers need to amend or cancel a booking, they can update their booking through their app on the scheduled journeys tab.

Interactive map

  • The interactive map allows you to drop a pin within one of the operating zones on your preferred pick-up and drop-off location. The system will then pick out the most suitable stops. 

Location search bar

  • You can also type a preferred location in, using street names, business name or schools name etc. Please double check the address is correct before booking. 

Favourite locations

  • You can add your regular locations to the favourites page. This could be a home, school or work address. Once you’ve done this, you can select this location to make journey booking even quicker!
