Melton Network Review
Local area bus services that are funded by the Council have been reviewed to create more travel opportunities for Leicestershire residents and to support the wider network provided by bus operators. The Sustainable Travel Roadshow took place in October 2024 and informed residents and passengers about plans for local services and travel options around Melton.
Improvements and updates to supported services came into effect from Monday 6th January 2025. Service numbers 8A, 14/15, 23/25, 55/56 and 100, have changed as part of these improvements – you can check the new numbers of the updated bus services in your area HERE!
Timetables for the new services can also be downloaded from the list below.
Your improved bus network
The improvements set out in Melton’s Network Review aim to maximise public transport provision across Melton and connect neighbouring communities.
- 5 redesigned town bus services that operate seven days a week, covering all of the new developments, some industrial estates and places of interest that were not previously served.
- Services timed to support commuters of both secondary schools in Melton town.
- Additional villages have been added onto the Melton – Loughborough service! This maximises onward travel to Grantham, Nottingham, Leicester and Oakham.
- 2 digital demand responsive transport (DDRT) zones. These allow more flexible bookings for residents in our rural settlements.
- Support trials for the enhancing two commercial services through to Nottingham.
