Rural Charnwood and Harborough Network Review

The rural Charnwood and Harborough network review includes rural and wider district bus services. The town centre bus services for Charnwood and Harborough are expected to be reviewed by June 2025. To improve bus networks across the county as part of our Bus Service Improvement Plan, we have hosted Sustainable Travel Roadshows in January and February 2025.

Improvements and updates to supported services came into effect from Monday 17th March 2025. Service numbers Centrebus 27, Centrebus 44 and Centrebus 58 have changed as part of these improvements – you can check the new numbers of the updated bus services in your area HERE

Your enhanced bus network

The changes set out in the Rural Charnwood and Harborough Network Review aims to improve travel connections, simplify routes and support the commercial bus network.

  • More than 20 rural areas that were not previously served will now have access to public transport.
  • Trial services for Sunday timetables and additional evening journeys
  • Streamlined Centrebus 44 (now named LC4) to reduce journey time for more direct access to St Luke’s Hospital.
  • Five NEW FoxConnect zones covering areas of Market Harborough. This service will connect key destinations such as Thurmaston Shopping Centre, Lutterworth and Uppingham.
  • Connecting timetabled services to other transport options to reach our goal for a multi-modal Leicestershire and encourage sustainable travel.
